Each
month about the third Thursday night, we host a special prix fixe dinner
celebrating one or another of those things that enrich our lives. In the past
twelve months, we have celebrated Rieslings, tapas and Spanish wines, the
food and wine of Oregon, the wines of Rappahannock Cellars, Dogfish Head
beers, garlic, the food and wine of Italy’s Piedmont, the wines of
Linden vineyards, the bounty of Mayfair Farm, fusion foods of the Caribbean,
the beers of Tröegs brewery, the food and wine of Burgundy, daring foods, and
the wonderful lamb from Virginia Lamb. The currently scheduled events are
listed below.

Hot Chef Competition

The
crew and I are participating in the Hot Chef competition, a fundraiser for The
Mosby Museum in Warrenton from 4-9pm. We’ll be competing with 9 other
area restaurants in presenting a 3-course dinner based on 19th
century ingredients. Tickets are $125 which includes food, open bar, and
dancing. 540-351-1600. Come cheer us on!

Annual Harvest Dinner
|
Each
year, we celebrate the hard work and great produce of Gene and Beth Nowak
at Mayfair Farm with a 5-course vegetarian farm-to-table dinner using only
their produce, paired with wines. Come experience Chef Ed at his most
creative. $65 per person, not including taxes or gratuity. Reserve by
credit card at 540-662-1455. We start receiving guests after 6:30; the
dinner starts promptly at 7:00pm.

Annual Demo at
Blandy Farm
|
Chef Ed
will be back at Blandy Farm during Arborfest for something like the fifth
year in a row at 2:30pm on the 12th of October demonstrating all
kinds of good things you can do with herbs and local produce. Each year the
crowd gets larger, so come early to get a good seat (and help set up!).
